Cell Biology Questions! Need help!?
Hi guys,
I’m having a very difficult time understanding protein/membrane hypopobicity as well as the way an actin filament grows.
if anyone can explain the method of thought that has to be undergone to solve these practice problems I would so appreciate it. I am bat with this whole Cytoplasmic Concentration business
The critical concentrations of F-actin are:
(+)-end: 0.12 microM
(-)-end: 0.6 microM
Under which of the following conditions will you see treadmilling? There may be several correct answers. (1 points – partial possible)
the cytosolic concentration of G-actin-ATP is 0.4 microM
the cytosolic concentration of G-actin-ATP is 0.1 microM
the cytosolic concentration of G-actin-ATP is 0.4 microM, but you have also added the (-)-end capping protein, tropomodulin, to your reaction
the cytosolic concentration of G-actin-ATP is 0.15 microM, but you have added profilin to your reaction
the cytosolic concentration of G-actin-ATP is 0.4 microM, but you have added 0.3 microM of the sequestering protein, thymosine beta 4, to your reaction
Also….
You have identified a protein with the following amino acid sequence between glycine in position 20 and tryptophane in position 67.
….gly(20)-gly-pro-asp-lys(25)-leu-leu-ile-met-val(30)-ala-cys-phe-trp-val(35)-ala-gly-phe-trp-ala(40)-val-met-leu-ile-leu(45)-val-lys-asp-gly-pro(50)-met-pro-leu-gln-asn(55)-lys-gly-ala-asp-trp(60)-glu-gly-val-leu-ala(65)-met-trp
