Re: Bachelor 14 (2010), should more B done to REVEAL ABC's dirty tricks to win ratings by smearing Rozlyn Papa?
Jan 12, 2010
Rozlyn Papa was one of the contestants on "The Bachelor", Season 14, who beat out the other contestants in winning an exclusive first rose during last night’s episode, in advance of the definitive rose ceremony occuring later in the evening that would eliminate 3 contestants. Rozlyn Papa is an attractive make-up artist and model from Richmond, VA, who did very well in the make-over / photo shoot with Bachelor Jake Pavelka and looked to be a leading contender in this competition.
But in a dramatic and never-seen-before dilemma, the producers decided to ask Ms. Papa to leave for supposedly "inappropriate behavior" with "one of our staffers". The audience was not told, however, that the "staffer" was actually one of the show’s Producers. They were told that this person was fired, indicating the infraction was serious enough to also send Ms. Papa home without a vote from Bachelor Jake, supposedly in "fairness to all", suggesting Ms. Papa was not serious about finding a husband or being loyal, but with ulterior motives not in keeping with a commitment to get married or to be a good wife. This caused quited a commotion leading to one of the contestants speculating that Ms. Papa had a "sexual relationship" with someone from the show — a sound bite that ABC was sure to promote in it’s previews leading up to the show’s airing.
In truth, however, there had been considerable controversy in the way ABC was handling it’s contestants. In particular, they had promised Ms. Papa that she would get a phone call from her 7 year old son in Virginia every day while taping in California — a promise that was not kept, similar to the promise ABC broke with a previous contestant with a child. Ms. Papa was also promised that her son would be flown to California for a special episode including his introduction to Bachelor Jake, but Ms. Papa’s former husband would not sign the release papers for his son.
This created a further dilemma because the show had special plans on how they would handle introducing Ms. Papa’s son to Bachelor Jake if Rozlyn were chosen. The shows producers INSTRUCTED Ms. Papa to NOT tell Bachelor Jake — in the beginning — that she had a son. Somehow the other contestants found out she did have a son (i.e. either Rozlyn told them or the show’s staff or producers told them). But then the shows producers — in need of a way to get rid of Rozlyn — INTERVIEWED each contestant privately and asked them on camera how they felt about Rozlyn not telling Bachelor Jake she had a son, but not confessing it was THEM who instructed her not to.
Now after Rozlyn was upset over not getting to hear from her son each day as the producers had promised, she found out that the show was going behind her back to ask the other contestants how they felt about Rozlyn not telling Bachelor Jake she had a son — and Roslyn got upset on camera and threatened to quit the show — a segment viewers would NOT be shown in that it might have implicated the show’s producers in a plot to manufacture conflict and controversy.
Now needing a fig leaf to cover their behind the scenes plot, they decided to reach into the behavior of one of their producers who had been observed flirting with Ms. Papa and her not necessarily turning away his advances. The producer admitted that he had "fallen for" Ms. Papa over the days of interviews and instructions leading up to the taping of the show, but there was never any sex between them and I don’t believe any clandestine rondezvous or even holding of hands. But then other producers got their lawyers involved and developed a scheme to LEAD THE CONTESTANTS ON to jump to conclusions about the relationship being sexual so that the show would not be making those allegations (i.e. false statements) directly and therefore liable in a law suit. But by INUENDO and SUGGESTION, they painted a picture for the other contestants, Bachelor Jake, and all viewers that Ms. Papa had done something so dishonorable, it was worthy of one of their own being fired and Ms. Papa being kicked — ALL FOR HIGHER RATINGS and to save face for their manipulative shenanigans off screen.
So this question asks first — Did you know this is what was really going on in last night’s 1/11/10 airing of the Bachelor?
Are you now surprised to hear the REAL story?
Are you DISAPPOINTED in what ABC did to mislead the viewing public and to trash Ms. Papa’s reputation, just to save it’s own neck and generate higher ratings in the process?
And do you think more of the other media needs to cover this story so the truth about ABC’s handling of this manufactured scandal will be told?
Thanks to blogger www.RealitySteve.com for all your research in exposing the true story behind this scandal. This posting is based on Reality Steve’s research.

Wow!! If what you say is true, then there might be some lawsuit pending. Stay tuned.

How do we know that Reality Steve has all the correct information?
The only people who know what really happened are those involved.

Who cares what Reality Steve says, I believe something happened. She will be on Inside Edition tonight and I will watch to see if she’s being yet again deceitful.

Rozlyn Papa can’t sue because she signed a waiver, it’s not up her how she’s portrayed due to editing. They sign releases to be on these reality tv shows. Also can you imagine a lawsuit in this situation, all they have to do is bring the staff member on the stand, completely destroy her character, they’ll ask questions like "what kind of woman engages in a relationship with two men at the same time" they’ll show footage of her initiating kisses with Jake. Then they’ll say what kind of mother leaves her son for what could be a long period of time. No jury would reward her anything.
She admitted to falling for someone during the taping. No one would believe her if she said anything different.

If and I say IF there is cause for a law suit I am sure she will pursuit it….I am sure the real reason’s and truth will come out on Entertainment Tonight…it would be interesting to read the contract where such rules were broken.
Can’t wait to see this staffer….funny the staffer didn’t abide by the rules.
Roz sure didn’t have much to say when Chris was reading her the riot act…speechless? When I seen the big guy in her room at first I thought it was the staffer LOL
This is as good as my soap operas!!!!!

I don’t believe the show would fire a staff member for just "flirting" with a contestant. I just don’t believe it. Something more inappropriate had to have happened for someone to be fired, otherwise I think the staff member would have filed his own lawsuit against the show. Rozlyn never denied anything either nor, when confronted, did she react in a way that an innocent person would. Rozlyn went on this show to meet and possibly connect to Jake, but hooked up with someone else at the same time. Based on that alone, the show did the right thing by asking her to leave. The stuff with her son is irrelevant. She had her 15 minutes of fame on tv and made a complete fool of herself. Good riddance!
